25 Texans in the Land of Lincoln
By Ellen Brodsky
Join the quest of 25 history students who drive 1,000 miles from the Alamo in Texas to a Springfield, Illinois museum asking to repatriate General Santa Anna’s prosthetic leg. The mostly Mexican American group also honor Abraham Lincoln’s support of Mexico with a Day of the Dead altar. With humor, humility and history lessons, these young men and women from San Antonio’s St. Mary’s University explore our shared history across the border, and challenge how history is shaped.
