Armed with Faith
By Geeta Gandbhir and Asad Faruqi
In the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of northwest Pakistan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bomb Disposal Unit (KPK BDU) is single handedly trying to stop the region from falling into the hands of terrorists from Afghanistan and surrounding tribal lands. With little special equipment, working with “faith and passion alone,” the men of this unit defuse a majority of terrorist-planted bombs in the country. ARMED WITH FAITH follows three men of the KPK BDU who put their lives at risk for the people of their country.
The film follows two bomb technicians and their commander as they defend their homeland. Abdur Rahim struggles to support his family with the low wages he receives. Inayatullah “Tiger” Khan never stops working, even after a nearly-fatal diffusion goes wrong. Their commander, Shafqat Malik, spends each day making life-or-death decisions. With families at home to support, the men must decide: Is the job worth the risk?
